Traders of Kashmir valley especially the retailers have thanked the administration for allowing the markets to function on the eve of Eid as a lot of rush has been witnessed in the markets with people going for the shopping.

Despite repeated requests by the district administration of Srinagar to the people that they should adhere to the sops while coming out to shops for the festival Eid, there have been a lot of violations by the common people as most of the people were not wearing masks and not maintaining social distance.

In such an atmosphere there are fears that the covid infection may spread again in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir due to the rush in the markets for the shopping by common people.

Meanwhile KNO quoting KRA statement has said, KRA President Farhan Kitab, who is also the member of All India Retailers Association, said the relaxation gave breather to the trader community, which has already been in red for around two years now.

“The retail sector has been trying hard to cope with the slings and arrows of the Covid19 pandemic, which caused irreparable damage to business,” Kitab said.

The KRA also hailed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sandeep Choudhary for his support in hassle free business ahead of the Muslim festival.

Kitab said the traders community was adhering to Covid Appropriate Behavior as no customer is allowed without facemask.
