Talking to media on Wednesday after coming out from the ED office of Srinagar along with her mother in connection with an alleged money laundering case in which her mother was summoned, Mehbooba said that it is a witch hunt launched by the BJP government against her family as she speaks truth about the ground situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

She said that whenever she shows resistance like when she decided not to meet the delimitation commission in Srinagar, they got summons from ED.

She said that she is not alone being harassed by the central agencies; there are many politicians, journalists and civil society members who are being intimidated by the central agencies for the crime of speaking truth against BJP.

KNO while reporting about the utterances of Mehbooba Mufti has said in its news report that Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said that the politicians, journalists and activists are being punished for speaking truth in ‘Naya Kashmir.’

Talking to media persons after her mother was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today, as per the news agency–Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Mehbooba said that the agencies that were meant to do serious work, have been used against the politicians.

“It’s only chronology as soon after I showed reluctance to meet the Delimitation Commission and staged a protest on August 05, summons were issued the other day,” she said.

Meanwhile, Mehbooba’s mother Gulshan Nazir was today questioned for nearly three hours in connection with a money laundering case.

The ED had issued a notice to her mother, asking her to appear before its office in Srinagar on August 18.
