Sajad Gani Lone in a series of tweets has questioned these leaders for not even touching article 370 and remaining silent on such an issue. Sajad Lone in the series of tweets said, “No mention of Article 370 in opposition parties meet. In wonderment how can J and K leaders justify their presence in the meeting if they could not convince the leaders to talk about 370. BJP anti 370’stance is clear. What is the national opposition stance”.

In another tweet Sajad said, “Article 370 can b restored either in parliament or by the courts. Courts we have to wait. It is a long process. In parliament we know BJP won’t restore it. The quietude of opposition parties suggest they won’t either. Then who will”.

He said that unfortunately the leaders of Kashmir are becoming the part of political cabal which says do not talk about article 370 and said in his tweet, “And y r leaders from j and k becoming a part of a process which endorses “don’t talk about 370” discourse. Wow so u becomes a part of a national opposition which abandons 370 and u irk and irritate a ruling party, not known for tolerance and hence put even statehood at risk”.

He asked the leadership of Kashmir to prevail upon opposition parties to start a political fight for the restoration of article 370. He said in his tweet, “For heavens sake. Let us at least resolve that if we can’t facilitate we will not impede either. Leaders from j and k should either get the national opposition endorse demand for 370 so that at the national level there is some hope at a future date or just keep out of it”.

Meanwhile when Rahul Gandhi was in Kashmir he demanded statehood for Jammu and Kashmir before elections. He remained silent on the restoration of article 370 and now the entire Congress is working on the same lines.

Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma, who is on a visit to Jammu and Kashmir as the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Home Affairs, demanded statehood and election and did not touch article 370.

Both Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti have come under sharp criticism for remaining silent on the article 370 in the recent opposition meeting in which 19 opposition parties decided to unite against BJP.
