SHOPIAN, AUGUST 23: The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Shopian, Dr.Arshad Hussain Tak today said that to ramp up the vaccination process to break the chain of virus transmission, cent percent target of vaccination of above 45 years of age group in first and 2nd Wave has been completed in the district so far.
The CMO said that cent percent vaccination of people was possible only after the District Administration as well as health workers, Ashas, AWWs and others cooperated and worked hard with dedication. He said that people also did not pay any heed to the rumours and came forward by themselves to get vaccinated.
He said in view of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, much more precautions are to be needed to keep one-self safe. The vaccination process for 18 to 44 years of age group is going on speedily in the district and all the health functionaries are working with dedication to make the vaccination process a great success, Tak added.
The CMO said that our teams including Dy.CMO, BMOs and other health workers have been geared up and are jointly working day night to complete the vaccination process in the district as soon as possible.
He asked the youth of the district to get vaccinated to remain safe and secure as vaccination is important for Covid-19 virus and added that vaccinated people have a slim chance of catching Covid infection and the vaccine acts as a shield against the Covid infection.
The CMO appealed to the people especially the youth of Shopian not to give ear to the rumors and come forward to get vaccinated at the nearest health institutions to save the precious lives.
He stressed usage of masks, maintaining social distance, sanitization and proper hand washing besides avoiding crowded places.
