Government to come with formal support for the Urs at the shrines in Kashmir

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir P K Pole said on Wednesday at the sidelines of the function that his administration has come with a new policy to formally support all the annual Urs functions at the shrines of Kashmir.

He said that the government has come up with a concrete policy to formally support all the religious places where annual Urs.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here at Rajbagh, Pole as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that Kashmir is famous not for its different language, but for different culture, civilization and other things.

He said that the people irrespective of their religious belief have faith in the Sufi saints here and thus visit these sacred places.

“Therefore, the government in order to promote these places, has come with a concrete policy through which a formal support will be extended to the annual Urs at these places,” Pole said.

Asked about the third Covid-19 wave, Pole said that the virus at present is under control, but the health experts have predicted its possibility.

According to the experts, the possible third wave can only be prevented by following Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) in letter and spirit.
