Humiliating spree of thrashing continues, Kashmiri driver beaten in Punjab: PDP

Reacting to reports that a Kashmiri truck driver and his conductor were beaten to pulp in Punjab, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday said that no action from the government has emboldened the mob.

A PDP spokesperson alleged that the humiliating spree of thrashing and harassing Kashmiris has continued unabated.

“Reports of truck driver Abid Bhat and his fellow companion from Bijbehara being beaten to pulp in Punjab are coming to fore. No action from the government has emboldened the mob,” he added.

A Kashmiri truck driver, Mohammad Abid Bhat, and a cleaner were allegedly brutally beaten up by some unknown persons in Pathankot on Tuesday evening. The incidents comes just few days after a driver and a cleaner from Budgam were allegedly beaten by some unknown persons in Himachal Pradesh for allegedly having written ‘Islam Zindabad’ on their vehicle.
