BANDIPORA, AUGUST 29: Principal Secretary Skill Development Dr Asgar Samoon on Sunday held a public interaction programme in Gurez valley to take first had appraisal of local issues from the people for accurate and on ground assessment and redressal of grievances.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dr Mudasir, Assistant Commissioner Development Abdul Rasheed Dass and other senior officers of the district were present on the occasion.
Dozens of delegations including members of District Development Councils, BDC chairpersons and other members of Panchayati Raj Institutions besides scores of individuals called on the Principal Secretary and apprised him about the problems faced by them in day to day life.
The delegations raised several other issues of their respective areas including road connectivity, drinking water supply, MGNERGA, Health Cards, pending payments of various works, issues of Health centres and schools besides availability of essential commodities. The delegations also raised several inter-departmental issues and sought intervention of district administration for resolution of their issues.
Dr Samoon passed directions for the resolutions of various issues while several committees and joint teams were constituted to resolve issues raised by the people during the program. He said conducting of public outreach programmes provides an important feedback for the government to tailor its interventions for the public good and reach to the doorstep of the people instead of them visiting the secretariat or other government offices.
