LADAKH FESTIVAL

The UT of Ladakh Union Government is very keen that the tourism industry should be revived as the previous lockdowns have badly hit this industry.

In this direction, the Union Tourism Minister recently inaugurated a three day mega event to get back tourists to Ladakh. The UT of Ladakh is trying to promote tourism post covid restrictions and is now trying to give some relief to the stakeholders in this industry.

Centre and Union Territory Ladakh have organized a 3-Day mega-event from 26th to 28th of this month. Minister appealed to all the pilots of the tourism industry to promote Ladakh as a domestic and international tourist destination.

Three-day event is organized to promote Ladakh as a tourist destination with focus on aspects of adventure, culture and responsible tourism. While inaugurating the Ladakh New Start, New Goals, Kishan Reddy listed various government initiatives like Dekho Apna Desh, to promote tourism in Ladakh and boost local economy with sustainability.

Speaking on the occasion, Ladakh Lieutenant Governor R.K Mathur stressed on focusing on the shape and size of tourism.

Many dignitaries including Ambassadors to India from Finland, Belgium and Bangladesh also present in the inaugural ceremony. LAHDC Chairman Tashi Gyaltson, Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and Tourism Secretary Arvind Singh, also spoke on the occasion. Speakers thrust upon tapping the potential of Ladakh as tourist destination of various segments, sustainability, rural tourism to boost the economy with sustainability and carbon neutrality.
