Jammu and Kashmir is fast emerging as Golfing capital according to the recent utterances by the senior officers of tourism department. They said Golf is a niche tourism picking up, many national, international tourneys lined up for the next two months, this year Golfers arrived 15 times more than last year, the figures from the government to cushion their claims.

Golfing circuit of Jammu & Kashmir particularly the iconic Royal Springs Golf Course and Pahalgam Golf Course provides a rich and varied world class experience to visiting golfers which is unparalleled in the rest of the country.

There is no doubt that many golfers have played in Srinagar and Pahalgam in the past and have praised the beauty and also the environment in these golf courses.

If the government properly promotes Kashmir as a golfing destination, there is a lot of scope for Jammu and Kashmir to become the Golfing capital.

Gulmarg Golf Course is being re done while as the Kashmir Golf Course which was shut for seven years after the devastating floods of 2014 has been re-laid, its fairways and greens redone and it was thrown open last month while as the Jammu-Tawi Golf Course has been developed of international quality.

The Tourism Secretary recently informed that this year saw the arrival of golf tourists about 15 times more than last year’s arrivals.
