Stresses for rigorous Vaccination drive for college going students, staff
BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 04: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today chaired a meeting here to review the situation arising due to Covid-19 pandemic in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said Vaccination drive for all college going students and persons aged above 18 years shall be carried out effectively besides the staff should also be fully Vaccinated keeping in view the contemplated opening of Colleges and Universities in future.
The DC instructed that only vaccinated students and staff shall be permitted to enter the premises of educational institutions. He further instructed all Principals of GDCs to ensure installation of Banners and Hoardings in Colleges depicting Do’s and Don’ts related to COVID-19.
Mirza also urged all stakeholders to inform the students about the urgent need of Covid-19 Vaccination and in this regard all educational institutions shall organize awareness camps with strict adherence to all mandated COVID-19 SOPs.
He also sought Vaccination status of all GDCs and directed the concerned to ensure vaccination of all remaining staff within a couple of days.
The DC exhorted upon principals of all GDCs to submit an Action plan for Vaccination drive and steps proposed to be taken to stop spread of Covid-19 pandemic. He emphasized a door to door Vaccination drive for all physically challenged persons.
There has been a spike in Covid-19 positive cases in the District, accordingly all concerned shall remain in state of alert and display pro activeness to mitigate the spread of infection, the DC said.
The meeting was attended by Principals of Government Degree Colleges, CMO, all BMOs and other officers and officials concerned.
