Director RDD conducts 2 day tour of Meelyal, Keran blocks of Kupwara; Reviews flagship schemes

KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 9: Director Rural Development Department Kashmir, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, conducted two day extensive tour of Meelyal and Keran blocks of Kupwara district to review progress on implementation of various flagship schemes in these blocks.

During his visit, Director interacted with PRI representatives including Chairpersons Block Development Councils Meelyal and Keran to have assessment of development scenario and needs of their respective areas as well. He took stock of grievances and demands of PRIs and locals of the area and issued on the spot directions to the concerned for speedy redressal of the same.

Director visited several Panchayats of these blocks to inspect development works being executed under MGNREGA, 14th FCA, CD and Panchayat besides RGSA. He also inspected Panchayat Bhavan at Keran.

Later, Director held a review meeting with officers and officials of RDD to review progress achieved, so far, under several departmental schemes in these areas.

Director was informed that about 94 works in Keran and 310 works in Meelyal blocks have been identified for execution under MGNREGA during current financial. So far, 31133 person days have been generated in both the blocks. Besides, out of 24 works taken up under 14th FCA, 8 works have been completed while 113 beneficiaries have been identified for assistance under PMAY in these blocks.  Similarly, 10 works have been taken up under CD Panchayat sector.

Director stressed upon the field functionaries to further accelerate the pace of progress on execution of works under different schemes for timely completion. He also issued directions to BDOs and the engineering staff for regular monitoring of these schemes.
