The government of Jammu and Kashmir is trying to introduce new techniques of farming and they are trying to give the farmers better equipment on the ground so that they change the old techniques of farming.
Recently LG Manoj Sinha distributed tractors and other equipment to the panchayats in Kashmir valley and said that it is the mission of his government to change the dynamics of farming and give them better facilities so that they get better prices for their produce.
Mechanization of farming is one of the important factors to transform the agriculture sector. It will further lead to sweeping changes and help farmers produce more and get the better markets in Jammu and Kashmir.
Terming Agriculture & horticulture sectors as key drivers of UT’s economic growth, he said that the government has ensured efficient use of seed technologies, high-density plantation, nutrient management, and widespread adoption of integrated dairy farming schemes to make J&K Agricultural Powerhouse.
Listing the reforms introduced by the government to transform the agriculture sector, he observed that the agriculture department is providing facilities like cold storage, market linkages and food processing units, besides developing a strong framework for farmer-industry connect and generating employment opportunities for rural youth to bridge the urban-rural divide.
