PDD gives 5 days ultimatum to the parties who are utilizing their poles for commercial purposes

The Power development Department (PDD) has given 5 days time to all telecom and cable operators to submit the dues to the department and if they have yet to enter into an agreement should execute the same within this timeline.

The Power development Department (PDD) has said that after the timeline of five days, all such connections from their poles would be disconnected unless these organizations do not enter into an agreement to submit their dues to the department.

An order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), has been issued by the Executive Engineer Electric Division-IV Khanyar in reference of the meeting with Managing Director KPDCL on 14-09-2021 regarding execution of agreements with the telecom operator and cable operators for rental charges of poles.

“As already instructed you are hereby directed to execute the agreement as per the Govt order No 193 PDD 2019 Dated 23.10.2019 with the telecom operator/ cable operators for rental charges of poles utilized by them for laying of cable within five days’ time. In case, any of the telecom operator/cable operator fails to execute the agreement within the above mentioned time frame their connection may be immediately disconnected,” the order reads.

The action taken report in this regard be submitted to this office in the enclosed format on daily basis with latest status, the order added.
