Police says on Srinagar airport they have detected and defused IED

Police on Tuesday said that during the previous night the alert forces were able to detect an improvised explosive device (IED) which was subsequently defused by them averting a major incident from happening.

Police said that they were able to detect it near Humhama on the airport road and immediately the disposal squads along with security wings were able to defuse it.

An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) an IED was detected by the forces on Airport road in Gogoo area of Humhama.

A senior police official told KNO that the area was surrounded and the IED was successfully defused by the bomb disposal squad without causing any damage”, he said.
