Accusing the BJP government of trying to bring big business players to Jammu, former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti said that such opening of retail stores will render hundreds of families in Jammu without any means of survival.

According to the news reports earlier from Jammu Traders and Apni Party activists staged separate protests against the proposed opening of 100 Reliance retail stores in Jammu, a claim which the company said is “completely untrue”.

However, Jammu transporters had already said that they would not be part of the Bandh call given by traders. Reliance Company has already denied these reports and has said that they were completely untrue that the company is going to establish over hundred retail stores in Jammu.

Jammu traders are already angry because of the recent government decision to end the Darbar Move practice along with many other decisions and the reports about the opening of reliance stores has proved to be a tripping point for them to protest.
