Violence against minorities in Tripura highly condemnable: CPI (M)

Srinagar: CPI (M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami Monday said the recent violence against minority community in Tripura is an unfortunate incident, which has once again created an atmosphere of hatred in the region.

“Some communal elements are fanning passions against the minority community in Tripura under the garb of communal violence in Bangladesh. The Tripura BJP government is not doing anything against those who are disturbing communal harmony there,” CPI (M) said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

It said the summoning of a known human rights activist from Kargil, Sajjad Hussain Kargili by the police for a tweet on violence against minorities in Tripura is a glaring example of how the administration in Union Territory of Ladakh wants to silence those who speak against the violence.

Ladakh Union Territory administration must understand that by such acts genuine voices can’t be suppressed, CPI (M) said—(KNO)
