Minor Girl recovered, accused arrested: JKP

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday recovered a minor girl who was kidnapped and arrested the accused, a police spokesman said.

He said, Police Station Khansahib in central Kashmir district of Badgam received a written complaint from a person stating therein that his minor daughter was kidnapped by one Mohammad Iqbal Shah a resident of Dreygam Khansahib.

Police swung into action and started investigation, constituted a team to trace and rescue the kidnapped girl from the clutches of the accused person.

Acting on specific information a police party headed to Rajouri district of Jammu region where they recovered the kidnapped girl from and also arrested the accused person involved in the crime.

The accused has been lodged in Police Station Khansahib where he remains in custody.

The spokesman said, all medical and legal formalities were initiated following which the girl was handed over to her legal heirs.

Further investigation into the matter is in progress.
