A special education plan has been made for the tribal children of Jammu and Kashmir and in order to implement this plan, the government has already introduced smart schools for them.
Recently LG Manoj Sinha also announced scholarships to thousands of tribal children for education. He said that Smart schools in tribal & remote areas are equipped with modern facilities to develop scientific temper in children & make them future ready, besides arresting the drop-out rate and they have no means of income.
Most of the tribal children avoid education due to poverty and the scholarships will prove a real opportunity for them to go for education.
The Government of Jammu and Kashmir is not only providing scholarships, Smart Schools, Eklavya Model School at a cost of Rs.104 Cr for the tribal population so that their children opt for schools.
Manoj Sinha said that they aim to strengthen School Infrastructure in Tribal Areas to provide better opportunities for their children.
He dedicated the UT government’s ambitious project of transforming 200 Schools into Smart Schools in Tribal areas at a cost of Rs 40 crores.
The modernization of Smart Schools will be executed in two phases. In the first phase, works related to 100 schools will be completed.
