Stray dogs kill 10 sheep in Ganderbal village

Stray dogs killed 10 sheep in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

The incident occurred at Ahangar Mohalla Ramwari Gund village of the district on Sunday late afternoon.

The owner Muhammad Yousuf Ahangar told news agency Kashmir News Trust that he was taking his flock to a nearby local stream when over a dozen dogs attacked the sheep.

He said he ran for his life while dogs started biting the sheep. After hearing the beating of the sheep, some people emerged and successfully dispersed the stray dogs.

“Five sheep died on the spot while the same number of sheep later on succumbed after treatment,” Muhammad Yousuf said adding that stray dogs have let loose a reign of terror in the village while administration is in deep slumber.

An official said that the owner of the flock will surely be compensated. He expressed grief over the unfortunate incident. (KNT)
