Engineering students of batch 2017 currently pursuing our bachelor’s degree at The University of Kashmir, Zakura Campus North Campus, and SSM College of Engineering have appealed to the authorities to intervene as they are being traumatized by the examination section of University of Kashmir.

They said that the examination of final semester was to be held in the month of August 2021, but was held in November/December of the year and the reason for this postponement wasn’t clear when the examinations for the rest of the departments in the university were held without any delay.

This delay has caused the students to miss out on the opportunities to apply for jobs and/or further studies, in various universities and colleges and it has jeopardized their future.

To add insult to injury, after delaying the final semester examination without any proper reasons now the authorities are withholding the degrees and the results for the reasons known to them only.

Similarly the authorities have delayed backlog examination for the previous semesters also and it has further delayed the chances for the students to move out for further studies and jobs.

“We have been running back and forth for months now. Approaching the controller examination, University of Kashmir; and The Director, IOT; both, putting the blame on the shoulders of each other and saying that there is nothing that they can do while their actions reek of utter indifference to the situation of us” said one of the students to this reporter when he was asked if they have approached the authorities.

These students have appealed to university authorities, to take the situation seriously, act on a priority basis, and not waste any more time for the sake of students’ careers.
