In Srinagar city security was beefed up ahead of January 26, and on Friday, frisking and searches were being conducted by police and CRPF at a number of places especially in Regal Chowk, Lal Chowk and Polo View.
Even at Jahangir Chowk police were seen stopping the two wheelers and other private vehicles to conduct searches and a lot of people were searched during these exercises held in Srinagar city.
