Some of the recent tragic incidents triggered by the bites of stray dogs have brought focus again on their growing numbers on the streets.
In the entire Kashmir valley there are large numbers of stray dogs roaming about on the streets without authorities paying any attention to this menace.
Many school going children have been attacked by stray dogs in different parts of Kashmir especially in Srinagar city. Different wings of the government who are responsible for controlling such stray dog incidents are paying no attention to the media reports about their challenges to common people.
Srinagar Municipal Corporation along with other municipal committees across Kashmir valley should devise some comprehensive policy and plan to stop stray dog menace on the streets to save children and other animals from their bites.
