According to the MeT department there could be widespread light rains coupled with thunderstorms in some hilly areas in the next 24 hours.
Dry weather conditions and heat waves are going to continue in Jammu region though there is a prediction of thunderstorms in Pir Panjal range of Jammu.
There is a hide and seek between the sun and the clouds on Thursday in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir as the weather is showing signs of being erratic.
It is in place to mention that there have been erratic weather conditions right from the month of March this year. The high temperatures during the spring season have shown its impact not only on the horticulture industry but also on farming.
The unusual spring in Kashmir valley has already shown its adverse impact on the ground. According to the farmers and orchardists if there is not adequate rainfall during the summer season it will impact the yield of all the varieties and can result in water shortage.
