Coming festival

In district Srinagar administration is trying to ensure all the facilities of common people in connection with upcoming Eid-ulAzha.

In this connection Deputy Commissioner Srinagar held a review meeting with all the wings of his officers to understand the preparations.

He gave direction to different wings so that common people get all the essential items at prescribed rates.

He urged upon Sectoral officers of PHE and PDD to ensure uninterrupted supply of water and electricity during auspicious occasion days. He asked the PHE department to keep water tankers in ready state to cater any exigent needs. The R&B authorities were asked to complete necessary road repairs and blacktopping in the City areas.

He directed for activating market surveillance Squads to check the quality of food items such as Bakery, Confectionery, Milk, Meat Chicken, Vegetables and other essentials in the market and take strict action against the erring traders.

The Traffic police authorities were asked to ensure smooth movement of traffic across the City and issue necessary route plans if required to overcome any traffic jams, while ARTO was directed to ensure adequate transport arrangements during Eid days.

Fire & Emergency authorities were asked to remain alert and establish fire tenders at specific places including near Shrines and other prominent religious places.
