Much to the relief of the rural population of Jammu and Kashmir, the central government has approved PMGSY-III for 1276 KMs costing Rs 1357 Cr for here.

PMGSY-III is another milestone in the rural connectivity of J&K, Manoj Sinha recently said that the modern rural infrastructure, enhanced connectivity will improve rural economy and ease of living here.

It will provide all-weather road connectivity to unconnected Habitations for sustainable and inclusive growth in Jammu and Kashmir.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Jammu and Kashmir is among the best performing States/UTs in the country so far.

With the mission of ensuring Safety, Connectivity, and Mobility to every village, 2353 PMGSY projects covering 17,336 km connecting 2071 habitations have already been completed. In 2021-22, 3284 Kms PMGSY roads were constructed, besides 7301 Kms were blacktopped. Further, 125 bridges are to be constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) to provide connectivity to far-flung areas.

PMGSY-III will give a boost to the rural economy in Jammu and Kashmir as the connectivity would be the game changer for those villages which are still not having the proper roads to sell their produce.
