Mining Department organizes e-Challan, e-Marketplace awareness meet

JAMMU, OCTOBER 25: The Mining Department led by its Secretary, Amit Sharma, today organized an awareness-cum-interaction meet at Jammu to ensure complete implementation of e-Challan in all important winter capital districts of the Union Territory.

Director Geology and Mining, O P Bhagat, District Mineral Officer, Dr Gulshan and other senior officers besides other stakeholders including Crusher Unit Holders and Mineral Dealer License holders were present on the occasion.

During the meet, Secretary shared the perspective and vision of the UT government led by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary, Dr Arun K Mehta to bring total transparency in working of the department wherein e-Challan is one of the important founding pillars.

He emphasized the need for strenuous efforts by all stakeholders to encourage public for purchasing mined material through e-marketplace which is readily available at G2B2C website “geologymining.jk.gov.in”. This would give total autonomy, choice and flexibility to the consumers for placing order, making e-payment and getting delivery of materials at doorsteps without human interface like it happens at Amazon and Flipkart e-Marketplaces, he added.

Secretary mentioned that candid directions have been issued to all the District Mining Officers of the UT to create special cells in their respective offices to give round the clock (24×7) approval to e-Challans on department’s G2B2C portal so that the work doesn’t suffer due to its non-issuance during the odd hours.

Director Geology and Mining assured that there shall be total support to the genuine issues raised by stakeholders.

Secretary revealed that soon, an exclusive mobile friendly application shall be available with both android and iOS interfaces so as to give added convenience to the public and stakeholders for provisioning online services of mining sector in a dedicated manner.

Secretary expressed gratitude to the stakeholders for adapting their traditional style of working towards these technological interventions in a swift manner which has indeed helped in making e-Challan 100% successful among all stakeholders including police and civil administration. He directed the officers to ensure that handholding and familiarization sessions should be a recurrent feature till all stakeholders become fully comfortable and familiar with e-Mining activities in the Union Territory.
