Div Com Jammu reviews progress on PMDP road projects being executed in districts

Directs GMs NHIDCL to stay in touch with District administrations to resolve land issues

JAMMU, DECEMBER 28: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today reviewed the status of the road projects being executed by National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) under Prime Minister’s Development Programme (PMDP) in the districts of Jammu Division.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa; Executive Director NHICDL, Sandeep Sudhera; GM, NHIDCL, Col S.S Sangwan; Assistant Commissioner Central, Pritam Lal Thappa and other concerned, while Deputy Commissioners of Doda, Kishtwar and Udhampur along with concerned officers participated in the meeting through video conferencing.

The Divisional Commissioner had an elaborate discussion on the status of all major road projects undertaken by NHIDCL. He inquired about the bottlenecks, if any, hampering progress of these vital projects.

While reviewing land issues of Jammu-Akhnoor Road Project, it was informed that land acquisition for the project has been completed and provided to NHIDCL for execution of work.

Inquiring about the status of Chenani-Sudhmahadev Road, the Div Com directed the DC Udhampur to resolve land issues if any. The NHIDCL was directed to expedite the pace of ongoing work on Chenani-Sudhmahadev Road for its completion within the set timeline.

The Div Com also reviewed progress of work on the road projects being constructed in Doda and Kishtwar Districts including Khellani -Khanabal Package I, II, III, IV, V and Singpora Vailoo Tunnel.

The Div Com directed Deputy Commissioners of Doda and Kishtwar to resolve all the land issues projected by NHIDCL for smooth execution of the work on the prestigious road projects. He also instructed DCs to complete disbursement of land compensation at the earliest.

Officers of NHIDCL were directed to establish contact with District Administration for better coordination and resolving issues timely.

He directed the DCs to hold meetings with the concerned officers, conduct visits to the work sites and review progress on all the works on regular intervals. He also directed the GMs to set deadlines for completion of each component of the projects and share the progress report on a regular basis.
