Cooperative Development

In order to revive Cooperative societies on the ground, the J & K administration is trying to have such Cooperative Development committees in every district.

Recently Deputy Commissioner Srinagar chaired  a meeting of District level Cooperative Development Committee(DLCDC) here at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex to review the implementation of various schemes aimed to strengthen Cooperative movement and deepening its reach to the grassroots level.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, who is also the Chairman District Cooperative Development Committee (DLCDC) took a detailed appraisal of the interventions being adopted to make Primary Cooperative Societies as vibrant entities of the economy.

A threadbare deliberation on different initiatives and key components was also held in detailed manner.

He reviewed the status about adoption of Model Bye Laws by PACS for making them Multipurpose and multi-Dimensional, status of hardware purchase, District Wise targets for establishing new multipurpose PACS o Primary Dairy/Fisheries Cooperative Societies in uncovered Panchayat villages, selection of PACS for the pilot projects for worlds largest Decentralized Grain Storage Plan in Cooperative Sector, Identification of PACS for convergence with PM-KUSUM scheme for promoting green energy at Panchayat level.

He stressed on all the members of the Committee to work in coordinated efforts in order to achieve the targets of various initiatives of the Ministry of Cooperation to further strengthen the cooperative ecosystem.
