With emphasis on the development of panchayats in Anantnag district, recently the Deputy Commissioner said that more 200 Amrit Sarovars have been developed in various panchayats.

While reviewing the progress he said that different programmes would be held which include the planting of at least 75 plant saplings in each Panchayat and ward of the district, further contributing to the preservation of nature and the environment.

He emphasized on the active participation of educational institutions, including Principals of Degree Colleges and CEO Anantnag, in organizing various events such as Essay, Drawings, Paintings, Photography, and Videography contests in memory of the brave hearts and national heroes.

He expressed immense pride in the successful implementation of various programs as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav’ and voiced confidence that the upcoming “Meri Mati Mera Desh” campaign would be equally successful, showcasing the collective efforts of all stakeholders.

With the campaign set to begin, the DC urged all concerned departments to make necessary preparations and ensure a successful observance of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” program. Wide publicity of the campaign will be encouraged to engage and inspire a larger audience.

This year, the Independence Day will be celebrated under the national theme ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ across the district, following the guidelines issued by the Government.
