In order to make the system transparent and to respond to the complaints of terror victim families, recently Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, has launched a dedicated web portal to provide relief and support to families affected by terrorism J&K. This initiative aims to streamline the process of providing financial assistance, ex-gratia compensation, and compassionate appointments to eligible families, ensuring that they receive the support they need in a timely and efficient manner.
The portal will serve as a centralized platform to capture and maintain comprehensive data on terrorism-affected families, allowing for better tracking and management of cases. It will also help to prevent bogus or duplicate claims by tracking any encroachments on the properties of victims or their next of kin.
To facilitate registration of overlooked or pending claims, toll-free helpline numbers have been established at the offices of the Divisional Commissioners in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions. These helplines will provide a convenient and accessible way for families to reach out for assistance and support.
Special monitoring cells have been constituted in the offices of the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police to review pending and resolved cases, identify bottlenecks, and coordinate with relevant departments for timely redressal. This will help to ensure that cases are processed efficiently and that families receive the support they need without unnecessary delays.
